Overview of the Affiliate Program
The Land Trust Alliance has provided a longstanding opportunity for conservation-based nonprofits, businesses, individual professionals, state land trust associations and government agencies to support our work and connect to our land trust members. We recognize the important role that these groups play in conservation and we want to let you know how much we value your work. Our Affiliates care about the land, water and environment, and are all committed to saving the special places people need and love. They ensure American children have safe, natural spaces to play in, farms and ranches continue to produce food, critical habitat and endangered species are protected, and more communities enjoy clean air and water.
We thank them for everything they do!
If you are an Affiliate, be sure to explore all the benefits and services that are available to you.

How do I calculate my dues? For dues purposes, your operating expenses include annual expenses that relate to the general function of your agency. These expenses include all personnel salaries and compensations, plus all annual operational costs, including rent, postage, printing, routine programming expenditures, management and fundraising expenses. Expenditures that are not part of the routine budget and other non-recurring costs such as one-time grant-funded projects, investments and capital development should be excluded when calculating dues.
If your agency has a conservation department, commission or program that is the primary beneficiary and sole user of the Affiliate program, then the operating expenses may reflect the general function of that conservation department, commission or program, and not the entire agency.

For those nonprofits that are multi-state, regional or national, if you have a conservation program or office that is the primary beneficiary and sole user of the Affiliate program, then the dues may reflect the operating expenses of that program or office instead of the entire nonprofit. Please note that the Affiliate benefits will only apply to that one conservation program or office and will not extend to the entire nonprofit.
State Association Affiliate Benefits and Dues
The Land Trust Alliance recognizes the vital role state land trust associations play in advancing conservation and we provide these important associations with access to the same benefits as our Nonprofit and Government Affiliates.
If you are a State Association Affiliate and have questions about your annual dues, please contact Jorge Astorga, membership and affiliate services manager at 202-347-7475 or email jastorga@lta.org.
Attestation Confirmation
All Alliance affiliates are required to check the attestation confirmation and must commit to the highest ethical standards as reflected in Land Trust Standards and Practices. The success of land conservation depends upon the shared commitment to ethical conduct by everyone affiliated with the Land Trust Alliance.
Questions About Renewing
Ready to Renew
Is it time to renew your affiliation? Call 202-347-7475 or email membership@lta.org to receive your renewal materials.
How to Determine Your Next Renewal Date
Affiliate dues are assessed annually based on your billing date (see sections above to determine your annual dues). Renewal invoices are mailed to affiliates two months in advance of their set renewal date and include the effective dues schedule. Please submit your renewal payment with your renewal invoice. Early payment does not discount the dues for that renewal period. Please contact membership@lta.org for additional information.
