Mitigation as a Funding Source for Restoration on Conserved Lands | April 14
In this session, Damian Holynskij from Davey Resource Group will discuss how compensatory mitigation requirements for impacts to wetlands and other natural resources from permitted development projects can serve as a funding source to implement ecological restoration projects on lands owned and/or managed by land trusts.

Equity and Nature - Some simple steps you can do to take action | May 19
This session will review Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy's recent collaboration with the Capital District Transportation Authority to create Nature Bus, free bus service to City of Albany residents to get them out in nature, and its path to creating an Indigenous Land Acknowledgement. Participants will review these two case studies of action towards equity and discuss ways in which they too can work towards equitable public access and communication in their respective service area.
Land Acquisition Funds for Source Water Protection | June 16
Protecting public drinking water supplies is a high priority for New York State. Land Acquisition is a great tool an organization or the community can utilize to protect their drinking water source. During this session, we will discuss the importance of source water protection, how land acquisition and land trusts can aid with protecting public drinking water supplies, the State’s drinking water source protection program and a state funding program that is available to land trusts to help with land acquisition and associated costs – the Water Quality Improvement Project Program.
