Do you want to have an impact on protection of Washington natural resources and maintaining forest land? If you enjoy working at the intersection between policy development and regulation rule adoption in the practice of natural resource management, this could be a great opportunity for you! You will plan significant new rules and guidance in areas such as water resource typing, protection of riparian buffers, alternative timber harvest management options. We have an opening within the Forest Regulation team as the policy section manager working with the Forest Practices Board and the Forest Practices Adaptive Management Program. You would be working with forest landowners, public agencies, the forest industry, environmental community, county governments and tribal governments. This position is the designated expert in the development of draft rule and guidance for presentation to DNR leadership and the Forest Practices Board.
