Land Steward, Finger Lakes Land Trust
The Land Steward will undertake a wide variety of tasks related to the administration, management and stewardship of both FLLT nature preserves and conservation easements. FLLT is currently responsible for the ongoing stewardship of 48 nature preserves totaling 6,138 acres, and more than 160 conservation easements and deed restricted properties totaling 14,780 acres that are primarily in private ownership, located across the 12-county Finger Lakes region of New York. It is anticipated that the Land Steward will spend the majority of their time on nature preserve stewardship activities, and a lesser amount of time on conservation easement stewardship and general administrative functions. The Land Steward will be supervised by the FLLT Director of Stewardship, but will primarily be trained and have work tasks coordinated by the FLLT Nature Preserve Manager and Conservation Easement Steward.
Applicants must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including occasional work on evenings and weekends, and participation in a variety of FLLT events throughout the year. Applicant must also be willing to travel frequently around the Finger Lakes region.
