Land Conservation Assistant, Sheriff's Meadow Foundation
The Land Conservation Assistant will report to the Director of Stewardship and work closely with the Land Stewardship team. Candidates must be committed to SMF’s mission, have strong communication and computer skills, be able to work long hours outdoors, have a team and customer-service orientation and be excited to learn new skills. The Land Conservation Assistant will work both in the office and outdoors throughout the year and will be responsible for monitoring Conservation Restrictions and Agricultural leases. Other maintenance and conservation duties will include collecting soil samples, forest measurement and management, assisting with permitting, assisting with general land and trail maintenance and assisting invasive species and habitat management projects as necessary. Additionally, this position requires administrative duties such as preparing documents for reports or meetings. The ideal candidate will be diplomatic by nature, able to work independently and with a team and able to manage conflicts respectfully.
