Kankakee Sands Conservation Technician, The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy in Indiana seeks a Kankakee Sands Conservation Technician for its 8,400-acre Kankakee Sands Preserve located in Morocco, Indiana. They will have three core functions: help prepare for and conduct prescribed fire, control invasive species, and collect/process native seed. They will also assist with preserve management including upkeep of trails, fencing, signs, and bison viewing area; and participate in outreach events, interact with visitors, and work with volunteers. Minimum qualifications include: a high school diploma or GED and 6-months related training or experience; experience performing physical work in a team environment; and the ability to obtain related licenses and certifications as required. This is a full-time, hands-on, field-oriented position lasting approximately 6-months, pays $15.17 an hour, and on-site shared housing may be available.
