Executive Director, Agricultural Stewardship Association

The Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) in New York’s Upper Hudson Valley, seeks a dynamic, strategic Executive Director (starting mid-2021) to lead its efforts to protect working farms and forests, connect people to the land and promote a vibrant future for agriculture and forestry in Washington and Rensselaer counties.

ASA is an acclaimed land trust that has conserved over 24,000 acres of working lands, since its founding in 1990. ASA’s recent five-year strategic plan maintains strength in land conservation and community engagement, while incorporating a greater emphasis on forestry, land access, farm viability, community conservation, climate resilience and inclusiveness.

ASA seeks an experienced leader with a deep respect for and understanding of why working farms and forests matter and experience leading strategies to conserve and steward these resources for future generations, to drive ASA’s growth and development, in partnership with a committed Board of Trustees and a strong staff.
