Development Coordinator, South Alabama Land Trust
The Development Coordinator will work with the Executive Director, Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator and Land Coordinator to further the mission of South Alabama Land Trust. That mission, as a “Friends Group” to the Weeks Bay Reserve to protect valuable coastal habitat in Alabama and educate the public about the importance of these resources. The Development Coordinator will work towards this goal by spearheading the donor and member relations portion of SALT’s work. This includes pursuing major donors, increasing event sponsorships and revenue, increasing membership, grant writing and developing unique funding sources. The Development Coordinator will be asked to think creatively to cultivate beneficial partnerships that further the work of SALT.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee membership program.
- Increase Spring and Year End Appeal donations.
- Assess and implement acquisition mailings to cultivate new donors.
- Develop a Major Donor program.
- Develop a Planned Giving program.
- Assist with SALT event planning and logistics.
- Assist with social media content.
- Edit content on SALT and Bald Eagle Bash websites.
- Manage SALT’s E-News and SALT Line quarterly newsletter
- Manage and oversee production of all SALT collateral materials.
- Write and submit grant proposals.
- File interim and final reports.
- Serve as staff liaison to Development Committee.
- Serve on Bald Eagle Bash and Birdfest Committees.
- Prepare all donation/membership correspondence.
- Oversee solicitation of and securing sponsorships for Bald Eagle Bash and BirdFest fundraising events.
- Oversee DonorPerfect, a donor software management program. Enter donations, analyze data and prepare reports.
- Attend community outreach events to promote the mission of SALT and connect with current and potential donors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
