Conservation Grants Associate, Rainforest Trust
OVERVIEW
Rainforest Trust is seeking a Conservation Grants Associate to join its Grants Management Team. The Conservation Grants Associate coordinates operational activities for the grants program at Rainforest Trust. The position is responsible for reviewing grant applications, distributing grants and awards, requesting and reviewing reports from grantees, researching, gathering and maintaining information about the grantees, and developing internal and external reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Communicate regularly with external project implementers to ensure delivery of key project objectives and adaptively manage projects as necessary. Review and approve grantee reports and other documents and request payments. Generate appropriate reports for internal use by maintaining accurate project portfolios Draft grant agreements for review. Collate and share information from regular communications and quarterly reports in a timely manner to support outreach and fundraising efforts. Ensure agreement activities are implemented as stated in an application’s objectives and activities. Identify potential problems with project implementation and seek solutions. Identify any gaps in partner capacity and seek solutions. Maintain complete project records. Distribute grants and awards. Encourage grant proposals from existing partners that further programmatic goals. Ensure regular updates are presented to the rest of the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong IT skills, G Suite, Databases, MS Office. Fluency in Spanish, French or Portuguese (written and spoken) language skills desirable. Basic GIS/mapping skills desirable. Ability to maintain professionalism and positivity, work independently and as part of a team with excellent attention to detail. Ability to react effectively and efficiently to time-sensitive matters as well as manage complex, longer-term initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to succeed through positive influence, persuasion and tact. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1-3 years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum of one year of experience in grant management a plus. Working Conditions and Travel Requirements
The Conservation Grants Associate may choose to work from home, at our office in Warrenton, VA or mix the two. Remote work requires reliable internet access.
