The Climate Project Manager (CPM) is a skilled project manager who focuses their expertise on the Chapter’s highest profile, most complex climate change projects. The CPM is responsible for planning, coordination, monitoring and quality control. They develop, manage and advance flagship work for the Tackling Climate Change (TCC) priority in the Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota Chapter. Their focus is on process and managing members of multidisciplinary teams to achieve important climate mitigation and adaptation outcomes.
The Climate Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for the planning, coordination, monitoring and successful completion of complex, high-stakes TCC projects. They apply their project management skills and expertise to managing interdisciplinary working teams to achieve outcomes. The CPM keeps the working team on track. They drive for accountability by tracking progress on action items, establishing a team culture of constructive engagement, and facilitating great meetings. The CPM reports to the Climate Change Director, who allocates resources, removes obstacles, guides project plans and approves final deliverables---the tangible products provided upon the completion of each project. The anticipated starting salary range is $52,000 - $62,000 dependent on location and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context.
- Ensures project compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Plans and implements projects, in collaboration with Climate Change Director and other key staff, following best practices for highly effective teams
- Participates actively in the TCC Strategy Team to integrate work that advances the Chapter’s Climate Strategy
- Fosters a culture of teamwork • May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
