Every land trust is different, guided by its own mission, values, and community. Get to know the land trusts in your area and see which ones are the best fit for you. This map lists land trusts that are members of Land Trust Alliance — by far, the majority of land trusts in the United States.
As you use the map, you can see whether a land trust has adopted the Land Trust Standards and Practices, the guidelines for responsible and ethical operation of a land trust. You can also see which land trusts are accredited — a mark of distinction that means they have successfully demonstrated implementation of the Standards and Practices.
