Is your organization sustainable?

In today's rapidly changing world, how can you ensure that your work will endure? Your goal is sustainability. It’s not some magic destination, but reached by making strategic decisions every day.

In this interactive training, we will learn how to turn your organization's business model into a single, compelling image called a Matrix Map. This Map is your team’s guidebook for uniting you in strategic decision-making, empowering you to make smart choices when responding to change.

You will walk away with a tool you can use to increase the impact of your mission and lead your organization toward financial stability. What better way to start the new year?

Program Overview

During this webinar based on the book Nonprofit Sustainability, you will:

  • Learn to understand the nature of nonprofit business models
  • See how your activities work together to create a sustainable organization
  • Become familiar with and be able to prepare your own Matrix Map
  • Discover how to analyze your business model (yes, you have one even if you don't call it that) and understand the strategies you must employ to strengthen it

Our instructor is Steve Zimmerman, Principal of Spectrum Nonprofit Services, where he provides training and consulting focused on finance and strategy for community-based organizations throughout the country. Steve is co-author of the book Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability with Jeanne Bell of CompassPoint and Jan Masaoka of Blue Avocado. He writes the Finance and Strategy column for Blue Avocado, and has also written for The Nonprofit Quarterly and Board Source.
