As I stood behind the scenes with land conservation professionals from Sonoma Land Trust, passing along last-minute instructions for their acceptance of the 2019 Land Trust Alliance Excellence Award, I couldn't help but think I was in the midst of greatness.
This group radiated every bit of what I read in their submitted nomination. Inspiring, creative, humble and humorous are just a few words I would use to describe this bunch.
Each year, I'm truly in awe of award recipients like Sonoma Land Trust. These groups come in all different sizes and from every landscape across the United States with this is common: they're doing their very best to better their communities. And through this work, each award-winning organization giving us all creative and inspiring ideas to advance land conservation everywhere.
Are you in the midst of greatness? I can't think of a better way to honor conservation leaders than to nominate them for a Land Trust Alliance award. Presented at Land Trust Alliance's Rally: The National Land Conservation Conference, these peer-nominated awards offer the perfect opportunity to highlight some of the incredible work your land trust or other conservation leaders are doing.
