And the winner is...
Congratulations to Ben Dodd of Edwards, Colorado, as the 2017 #LandIsMy video contest winner!
His video, "Land is My Connection," brings us closer to three people in his community and explains how and why they connect to the land. Ben co-owns a video production company, Capture the Action, which inspires others to laugh and spread positive stories. He is also the content marketing manager for Vail Valley Partnership, a regional community development organization in his home town.
Ben wins $2,000 for his entry. In addition, Ben has designated the accredited Eagle Valley Land Trust in Edwards, Colorado, to receive the contest's grand prize of $10,000 from the Land Trust Alliance.
Second place goes to Scott Rulander of Sandpoint, Idaho, for his video, "Land Is My Sasquatch," about growing up in nature and how his experiences shaped who he is today. Scott receives $1,000 for his entry, which was inspired in its story line and involvement of kids. Scott had designated the accredited Kaniksu Land Trust in Sandpoint as his land trust.
Third place is awarded to Grant Korte of Fremont, Indiana, for his video, "Land Is My Adventure," about how land allows him to do the things he loves and how that helps him see life in a new light. His land trust is the Clear Lake Township Land Conservancy, also in Fremont. Grant's video demonstrated subtle artistry and his passion for being out in nature. Grant will receive a prize of $500.
A big thank you to all who entered and promoted the contest! And congratulations again to our big winners, including the Eagle Valley Land Trust!
