All too often, land trusts face a serious obstacle to closing the deal: a time gap between the availability of funding for a land conservation acquisition and the closing date for the real estate transaction. A good option may be bridge financing (i.e., taking out a short term loan) to make the deal happen. This four-part webinar series is designed to help land trust staff and board members understand the art of financing a project using a wide range of lending options, and to find the right type of lender for the land trust’s culture. Participates will explore best practices in the field to determine whether their organization is on the right path to achieving their financial and conservation goals.
It’s no secret that financially health organizations have more options than struggling organizations. How can you move your land trust into a better fiscal place so that when you need to borrow funds, it’s a straightforward process and you can still sleep at night. This webinar will explore some practices to increase the financial health of your land trust and help you recognize opportunities that can be used for collateral (such as trade lands) if you require a loan.
