Picture the lone development officer or executive director charging up a hill, waving the flag leading the troops to a great fundraising success only to find she or he is alone on the top of the hill. Too often this is the case when it comes to raising funds. For land trusts it is a lost opportunity because the secret to successful fundraising organizations is that they create a culture of philanthropy, engaging board members, volunteers, program staff and even donors in the process of raising funds. The key is utilizing everyone’s talents effectively and leveraging your resources to connect with more donors. As a result, everyone feels like part of a winning team.

Webinar participants will explore:

  • The role of the board in raising funds
  • How to identify and recruit team members
  • How to motivate team members
  • What works and what doesn’t in employing program staff in fundraising
  • How to engage everyone in the cultivation process
