Contrary to some popular views the "sky is not falling" and media reports of huge drops in philanthropic giving are not universal. Nonprofits with a strong case and who have been good stewards of their donors can maintain and even grow their base of support now. This webinar will explore different fundraising approaches during challenging economic times. Learn what the experts have found to work and share your insights.

What You Will Learn

You will learn what has happened to giving during past recessions and how to develop strategies to adapt your fundraising plans in a tough economy.  We will discuss such questions as:

  • Can an environmental organization make a strong case for giving when so many social and human service organizations are struggling to meet the needs of the recently unemployed?  Is fundraising a zero sum game in this economy?
  • Where do you focus your energies: existing donors or growing new friends?
  • How do you change your fundraising strategy if it has been overly reliant on foundations?
  • Tips for training and engaging the entire board and staff in fundraising
  • What's working for peer land trusts

Format

The webinar will use a conference call and online web conferencing software. This session is heavily discussion-orientated, so be ready to talk!

High-speed Internet access required.

Who Should Attend?

Executive directors, development/fundraising professionals and volunteers; and those responsible for a land trust’s overall fundraising strategy. If you have seen your fundraising revenue decline or are worried about your prospects, this session is for you!
