Description
How much will it cost your land trust to manage a conservation easement in perpetuity? Arriving at a realistic figure is tricky—but essential—if you are going to keep your promises. In this workshop you will learn the most accurate methods land trust use to for determining costs of their long-term stewardship obligations, including potential enforcement/defense costs. Using the most up-to-date numbers from the Land Trust Alliance, you will obtain the information you need to help ensure the land you protect today is safe tomorrow.

Land trust staff, volunteers, and board members who are planning for the long-term financial support of their land trusts’ easement stewardship program.
Instructor
Brenda Lind is a part-time land protection specialist with the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests and part-time private consultant on land protection topics. She is currently an online facilitator on the Land Trust Alliance Learning Center, and has co-authored several publications for the Alliance, including Determining Stewardship Costs and Raising and Managing Dedicated Funds and Conservation Easement Stewardship. She lives in New Boston, New Hampshire, where she especially enjoys walking and working on conservation lands along the Piscataquog River.Document Actions
