Southern Indiana Land Trust Summit

Please join your land trust colleagues on Saturday, April 18, 2009 from 10:00 am -3:00 pm at Griffith Hall at Bradford Woods located in Martinsville, Indiana.

Registration is free and includes continental breakfast and lunch.  A limited number of travel stipends are available.  Space is limited, so register today!  Final registration date is Friday, April 10, 2009.

  • Special Topic Roundtable Discussions:

       Building a More Effective Board of Directors:  Explore methods

       for creating a stronger board, how to deal with difficult board
       members, self-assessing your board, and how to increase the
       percentage of board members actively involved in fundraising,
       planning, outreach, oversight, etc.

        Fundraising Campaign Strategies: Explore strategies for     
        raising funds for your organization’s needs, with a particular
        focus on financial assessment and planning

        Preparing for Land Trust Accreditation: Learn about the Land
        Trust Accreditation program, challenges and lessons learned
         from applicants to date, and general strategies to help land
         trusts better prepare

        Baseline Documentation Reports and Land Management 
        Plans:
Examine the critical elements of creating and using
        baseline documentation reports and land management plans

This summit is part of a new, 3-year Indiana Land Trust Advancement Program designed to provide Indiana’s land trusts with training and organizational growth services toward developing sustainable operational and financial structures, and preparing for accreditation review.  This program is generously funded through a grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
