Special Full-Day Workshop on Building Strong Boards

The Land Trust Alliance Northeast Program is pleased to announce a special full-day workshop on Building Strong Boards, led by Marc Smiley, Principal of Decisions, Decisions in Portland, OR, and author of Land Trust Boards: Preparing for Perpetuity and Building the Foundation for Fundraising Success, both part of the Land Trust Standards and Practices Curriculum.
The workshop will take place on Friday, April 3rd from 9:00am to 4:00 pm. The registration fee is $35.00 and registration limited to 35 people. Pre-registration is required. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

This workshop will include a highly interactive discussion on Building Strong Boards, following Land Trust Boards: Building Boards for Perpetuity and:
- Examine board structure and governance along with methods for achieving the critical elements of a successful board
- Highlight specific structure and process needs, such as optimal board size, board development, and using meetings effectively
- Cover the development of viable fundraising strategies, including highlights on the board role in this important capacity
- Each participant will receive a copy of the Land Trust Standards and Practices Curriculum Student Guide Land Trust Boards: Preparing for Perpetuity.
