Land Trust GIS Website

The Land Trust GIS website contains a wealth of information about how land trusts can apply Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to their work. It is a joint project of GreenInfo Network in partnership with the Land Trust Alliance, and with the assistance of CommEn Space.

Community Resource Mapper

The Southeast Watershed Forum invites you to use its new Community Resource Mapper assistance to help you compare land cover and protected land data and create tools for land conservation and water quality protection planning. Create your own maps on a county, watershed, or state level. Go to www.watershed-assistance.net/mapper for more information and to access pilot demonstrations of this resource.

Connecticut Environmental Conditions Online (CT ECO)

Includes the latest and most accessible online maps and tools for viewing Connecticut’s environmental and natural resource information – such as protected open space, farmland soils, wetland soils, aquifer protection areas, water quality classifications, and drainage basins. Each can be viewed separately or in conjunction with other environmental and natural resource information. In addition, CT ECO includes several sets of high resolution imagery.

Conservation and Climate Change Clearinghouse

For individuals working to protect the Earth's land and biodiversity from the increasing anthropogenic effects of climate change. We intend the Clearinghouse to serve two practical purposes: to help you both stay up to date and to find what you need-quickly.

USDA Soil Survey Maps Available Online

NRCS has soil maps and data available online for more than 95 percent of the nation’s counties and expects that will improve to 100 percent soon.  The site is free and is maintained as the single authoritative source of soil survey information.  This information is critical to land trusts for baseline documentation done for agricultural lands under conservation easement management agreements.

The Program on Conservation Innovation

A website out of Harvard University that focuses on efforts to forge remarkable advances in the fields of conservation science, education, advocacy and policy, resource protection, and stewardship.

Open Space Protection Collaborative

A website, serving the Carolinas, which aims to provide financial advisors with the necessary resources and know-how to advise conservation-minded clients about conservation planning. The website has information helpful to land trusts throughout the Carolina and beyond.

LandVote Database

Developed by the Trust For Public Land, a national conservation organization, the LandVote Database serves as the premier source of information about conservation ballot measures. The database brings together a comprehensive history for all conservation-related ballot measures that have been voted on since 1999.

Farmland Information Center Website

On the Farmland Information Center website you’ll find a collection of statistics, laws, literature and technical resources related to farm and ranch land protection and stewardship. The Farmland Information Center is a service of the American Farmland Trust in partnership with NRCS.
