Erler's LandSteward Software
Designed to help land conservation organizations store and access project and stewardship data for protected properties, Erler's LandSteward (ELS) will be used by those land trusts interested in making their stewardship documentation systems stronger.
Erler's LandSteward is a browser-interfaced database program that allows land conservation organizations to better manage the complex information needed to ensure effective stewardship and permanent protection of conserved land.
This software streamlines entry of new data, creates links to existing digital files - including text documents, graphic files and spreadsheets - and speeds access to information when needed. The program can be used for existing properties as well as new projects, and enables users to adopt consistent data acquisition, file naming and storage practices. Because access to data is quick and easy, staff and volunteers can use the system and view all records with little instruction.
*ELS costs $99 for Land Trust Alliance member land trusts and Partners. The cost is $199 for all others. Order now >>

**Note: Both movies are ".exe" (executable) files. They have been scanned for viruses and are safe to open and/or download to your computer. Also, when the movie begins, hit the ESC button on your keyboard to display controls for viewing the movie.
Note: This is stand-alone software. That means it gets installed on one PC and can only be accessed through that PC. The data cannot be shared over a network. You might be able to use a remote control software such as pcAnywhere™ to enable remote sessions, but this has not been tested. Some prospective users have asked about the possibility/advisability of copying Erler’s LandSteward onto another PC and then keeping both sets of data updated. While possible, managing files like this could leave to confusion and mistakes, and is not recommended.
If your organization is interested in developing a networked version of Erler’s LandSteward, or if you have any questions please contact Rob Aldrich, 202 638 4725 x334 (raldrich@lta.org).
