| Note: if you are with a land trust in Wisconsin or any state in the Southeast (Alabama, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina) and you have already responded to a recent survey by Gathering Waters or the Land Trust Alliance Southeast Office, you do not need to respond again - thanks for your input! |

The 2007 federal tax incentive for conservation easement donations enabled many moderate-income landowners to conserve the land they love. Anecdotal evidence points to major increases in acres conserved by land trusts last year.
Being able to tell Congress the actual number of acres conserved by land trusts over the past two years would help our effort to renew this incentive enormously!
Thank you for taking a few minutes to fill out a short survey on the impact of the 2007 Federal Tax Incentive. This information could be critically important to our work to renew the enhanced deduction for conservation easements.
Besides the first page of contact information, there are only 18 questions, and we have preloaded your data from the past census so you only have to review and update the information for your organization in 15 minutes or less.
Thank you for responding via the Web. If you would like it in another format, you can download the form or call (202) 638-4725 to request a paper form. (Please note that neither of these options will have any of your answers from the previous Census filled in.)
Have your individual results e-mailed directly to you - just check off a box on the last page of the survey.
The deadline for all Census forms is May 23 . Please respond as soon as possible. The full results of the survey will be tabulated and made available to you in a report in electronic form by May 29.
We would be happy to answer any questions you might have about the Tax Incentive Impact Survey.
Please e-mail census@lta.org, or call (202) 638-4725
Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the survey and to help us to capture and reiterate the compelling impact of the tax incentive on conservation across America!
