2010 Land Trust Salaries and Benefits Results
Salaries and Benefits for Land Trust Staff Increase Despite Troubled Economy
Land Trust Salaries and Benefits Survey Summary, Sixth Edition
The results from the Land Trust Alliance's latest salary survey show that salaries for land trust executive directors, even with this period of prolonged economic turmoil and uncertainty, are up; however, other staff salaries are down from those reported in 2007, as are certain benefits. Many land trusts have told us that this survey is one of the most useful resources the Alliance provides, and we’d like to thank those that participated to make this crucial information available. Here are a few key pieces of information:
- On average executive directors of land trusts are earning $75,510 per year, up 9.3 percent from the inflation-adjusted $69,082 reported in 2007
- 32% of responding land trusts report their executive directors are earning $80,000 or more annually%
- Female executive directors make, on average, 88.5 % of their male counterparts
- 62% of all land trust respondents provide medical insurance to their employees, down from 72% percent from the 2007 survey, which itself was down from the 79% reported in 2002
