Your land trust’s dues will be based on your organization’s operating expenses for the previous year.

To be eligible for Land Trust Membership you must be a land trust as defined below:
- A land trust is a nonprofit organization that, as all or part of its mission, actively works to conserve land by undertaking or assisting in land or conservation easement acquisition, or by its stewardship of such land or easements
- Land Trust Members must be one of the following: 501(c) (3), 509(a) (3), or municipal/township land trust
- Organizations not meeting the definition of a land trust may join the Land Trust Alliance in the following categories: Government Partner, Nonprofit Partner, and Professional Partner
If you are joining for the first time you must provide The Alliance with a board resolution reflecting adoption of the 2004 revised Land Trust Standards and Practices within one month or we will cancel your membership and refund you the dues you paid, less any discounts you received*. Here you can find the outline of the steps necessary to complete adoption.
*If you received discounts greater than the dues you paid, you will be billed for the excess.
