Volunteer Opportunities

The Land Trust Alliance is looking for energetic and enthusiastic volunteers!

There are opportunities for full-time students to volunteer at Rally 2008 in Pittsburgh on September 20 and 21. Students will have their basic registration fee waived for volunteering one day.  They may then attend the other day at no charge. For more information, please contact Patty Tipson at ptipson@lta.org or 202-638-4725 x304.

Can’t come to Rally this year?  Your local land trust can also use your help!  Land trusts around the country, big and small, always need the help of hardworking volunteers.  Become a tour guide on your favorite hiking trail.  Volunteer on a trail maintenance team.  Help clean up the stream you fished growing up.  Don’t feel like getting dirty?  You can also help maintain an email list, or use your artistic ability to create eye-catching flyers.

You can become as involved as you like or are able.  No effort is too small, and land trusts appreciate any time you can give.

And if you just don’t have the time to personally volunteer, you can still support your local land trust by donating supplies and other items.  Though they have a big conservation impact, some land trusts are small and have wish lists for basic office needs.  Become a Conservation Angel by donating a laptop, printer, or office furniture to a land trust.

Find a Land Trust near you and give them a call today to see how you can help in their efforts to save our most cherished land.
