The Land Trust Alliance and the land conservation community - confronted with development pressures on open lands nationwide - have little time left to protect millions of threatened acres.  America is consuming land so quickly – at 2 million acres a year or nearly 4,000 football fields a day – that our opportunity to reverse this loss will soon be gone.  Family farms, robust forests, majestic coastlines, and community gardens are all at stake.
