Alliance Staff Attends No Farms No Food Rally

March 15, 2010 | Albany

A week after the New York Land Trust Lobby Day, farmers, food advocates, environmentalists and local officials came together in force for the No Farms No Food Rally at the State Capitol in Albany March 15th. Over 140 individual participants and 70 supporting organizations, including the Land Trust Alliance, joined forces and met with more than 100 state legislators.

Participants, including Katrina Howey from the Northeast office and several Land Trust Alliance NY Advisory Board members, spoke out for state programs that: help protect farms across the state; give residents in New York City, Buffalo and communities across the state gain access to healthy foods grown in New York; help farmers keep our drinking water clean; and sustain tens of thousands of jobs and economic opportunities at farms and food businesses.
