Land trusts have an important role to play in climate adaptation. While protecting special places and critical habitats, land trusts also help protect ecosystem services vital to their communities. This webinar will provide participants with practical planning, and communications strategies to better navigate the complex and urgent nature of climate change impacts facing coastal communities. Land trust staff from the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust and Scenic Hudson (NY) will share examples of how they navigated the challenge of communicating and incorporating climate change into their conservation efforts. They will also highlight the potential benefits of effective engagement that helps people visualize their community in the context of a changing climate. As an added bonus, this webinar will also provide an overview of a free, new, comprehensive online climate change resource offered through the Land Trust Alliance.
Space is limited to the first 90 attendees, so please login in early if you want to attend. For those unable to attend, we will post a recording of the webinar on the CCN website (http://www.landtrustalliance.org/ccn/webinars-1).
