The mission of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which life depends.  EPA accomplishes this mission by giving grants, studying environmental issues, sponsoring partnerships, teaching people about the environment, and publishing information.
