Andrew Bowman, the Land Trust Alliance’s new president, is already thinking big.
He wants to make land conservation more relevant to more people. He wants to increase the rate of land conservation. He wants to empower land trusts to be more resilient to known challenges. He wants to make land conservation as rigorous as possible.
If all that makes Andrew sound a bit like a man on a mission, it’s because he is.
“I see that land is a solution to so many of the things that ails us here in America and actually around the world,” he said. “Whether it’s public health, childhood obesity, even climate change — there are so many things that we need to deal with in this day and age and so many times that land turns out to be one of the key solutions to those problems.”
