Putting theory into practice

Taking community conservation from theory to practice means embracing pliability. It’s a process that takes on different meanings and tactics for every undertaking.

A governor, two corgis and one big day

California is the most important agricultural state in the country, so when the state’s governor and secretary of food and agriculture come to a land trust event, it’s a big day.

My conservation origins

I was always interested in the environment, as my parents were, thus I knew that land preservation was important. My mom and dad demonstrated this to me when they helped save Corbett’s Glen in Brighton, New York, and became members of Genesee Land Trust. Then I took an environmental science class in high school and that really stuck with me.
