National Land Trust Excellence Award
The National Land Trust Excellence Award is given to a land trust that excels in one of the following areas:
A) Outstanding Policy Initiative
Achieves excellence in public policy (working with elected officials, passing a bond issue or state tax credit, etc.);
B) Outstanding Collaboration Initiative
Achieves shared conservation goals that involve multiple parties, disciplines or functions among land trusts and other partners;
C) Outstanding Education and Outreach Initiative
Creates an innovative programming or outreach initiative that achieves significant impact on the conservation community and builds support and partnership.
Criteria for each category:
- Provides leadership
- Uses creative and innovative techniques to accomplish the goals and objectives of the project
- Is recognized by others in their community for their commitment and successes
