Advancing Conservancy Excellence (ACE II) Program

Applications Due by February 29, 2012

The Advancing Conservancy Excellence (ACE) program in Michigan is a cooperative effort of Heart of the Lakes Center for Land Conservation Policy (“Heart of the Lakes”) and the Land Trust Alliance Midwest Program (the “Alliance”).  This six-year advancement program is helping transform Michigan’s land conservancies into a high-performing, sustainable, and cohesive conservation community by providing organizations with the training, knowledge, and capacity required to be well positioned for accreditation and sustainable for future generations.

ACE II (2011-2014) is specifically focused on helping land conservancies successfully prepare for national accreditation through the Land Trust Alliance’s Land Trust Accreditation program.

Services provided for those land conservancies accepted into ACE II include:

  • Guided Standards and Practices Assessment (if needed)
  • Implementation Planning assistance
  • Mentoring, technical assistance, and consultations
  • Modest advancement grants with emphasis on accreditation preparation
  • Land Conservancy board training

Is this right for me? Are you:

  • A Michigan land trust with membership in both Heart of the Lakes and the Alliance
  • A 501(c)3 non-profit land conservancy
  • A land trust with a commitment to apply for Land Trust Accreditation within the next three years

If so, this is right for you!

How Do I Apply?

Applications are being accepted electronically through February 29, 2012 and must be submitted to MaryKay O’Donnell and Julie Stoneman.  Available slots for ACE II are extremely limited, so apply soon if you are interested. View more information and download the application.
