Community Forest Program Manager, Downeast Lakes Land Trust

DLLT is based in Grand Lake Stream, Maine with a mission to contribute to the long-term economic and environmental well-being of the Downeast Lakes region through the conservation and exemplary management of its forests and waters. Grand Lake Stream is a rural community of 150 year-round residents in a spectacular setting of lakes, streams and forests famous for its world-class fishing. DLLT has led a successful ongoing effort that has protected over 350,000 acres. DLLT sustainably manages the 33,708-acre Farm Cove Community Forest for wildlife habitat, forest products, and public recreation. The Community Forest Program Manager will oversee implementation of DLLT’s forest management under the supervision of the Executive Director. Position will include field and office activities, and work with staff, volunteers, committees, and contractors. This position is being advertised as a half-time position, with potential to develop into full-time employment. Requires: Bachelor’s degree in forestry or other relevant field; demonstrated working knowledge of forestry, road maintenance, and project oversight; and computer skills including email, word processing, and spreadsheets. The full time Executive Director would work with the Development Director, a part time secretary, and several consultants/contractors in close cooperation with an actively involved board.
