Cascade Agenda City Program Intern, Cascade Land Conservancy

This intern will work with the Cascade Land Conservancy's land use policy team to develop and implement innovative policy solutions at the local level. The Cascade Agenda Cities Program is seeking to partner with cities to implement strategies for responsible growth and livability. The intern will be responsible for researching innovative planning policies and programs in four main policy areas where applicable creating benchmarks or indicators for these policies. Development and Events Intern, Cascade Land Conservancy

This intern will assist the Cascade Land Conservancy's fundraising staff with research and general event support. This will include researching companies for potential sponsorship/partnering opportunities, reviewing event programs, business journals, and other sources to gather company contacts, and submitting sponsorship proposals to these companies. Green Seattle Partnership Urban Forest Monitors, Cascade Land Conservancy

The Green Seattle Partnership (GSP) is a unique venture between the City of Seattle, its residents, and the Cascade Land Conservancy. The Partnership is dedicated to restoring 2500 acres of forested parklands in Seattle by 2025. CLC is looking for two GSP Urban Forest Monitors will work with our Stewardship department to design and implement a tree survival monitoring and inventory plan for more than 3000 trees that have been planted at Interlaken and Discovery Parks. This will involve collecting statistics such as percent survivorship, and percent of seedlings showing signs of stress. This project requires two people to perform the field data collection. This person will improve and update our website within the confines of our current layout and content management system (PLONE). We also seek help improving our presence on social networking pages and blogs such as Facebook. Conservation Planning and Stewardship Intern, Cascade Land Conservancy

The Conservation Planning and Stewardship intern will assist CLC’s Mason County office with a planning process to determine strategies for maintaining sustainable economic and environmental vitality in Mason County. The position will include assisting with the logistics of running this process as well as assistance developing the final report on findings. Depending on experience, the position can also include assisting with stewardship planning on CLC lands including planning trails, work parties for the spring and areas of priority for restoration. Stewardship Intern - Lands Intern, Cascade Land Conservancy

In 2008, CLC is initiating an assessment of restoration needs on CLC lands. The CLC Lands Intern will work with the Stewardship Department staff to carry out the field component of the assessment, organize information, and document findings. Although the bulk of the CLC Lands Intern’s time will be devoted to the needs assessment, there will be opportunities for the intern to assist as needed with a diverse set of stewardship tasks. Types of tasks include assisting with the preparation of management documents, ecological restoration events, conservation easement monitoring, and archiving stewardship documents. Requirements: 1. Have or be pursuing a Bachelor's in Nat. Sciences, Forestry, Environmental Studies or related field. 2. Demonstrated interest (paid or unpaid work) in land stewardship, environmental education, or related field. 3. Some knowledge of native vegetation. 4. Transactions Project Intern, Cascade Land Conservancy

The Conservation Transactions department consists of conservation directors and project managers working across five counties and throughout the region to conserve our great lands. We are looking for an intern to assist us by organizing all of the permanent files relating to our previously protected lands. This is a large and very important task that requires organizational skills and attention to detail. The intern will have the opportunity to become very familiar with the process of each past land transaction, as well as current projects as they close.
