Project Manager I, The Trust for Public Land

The Project Manager's main responsibility is preserving critical open space and environmentally sensitive lands utilizing nonprofit land acquisition techniques. Tasks include identifying, negotiating, and completing the complex real estate transactions associated with TPL's land protection projects. Project work will include northern forest/working landscape transactions and municipal "quality of place" conservation efforts. Other duties include developing and maintaining relationships with public agency and private nonprofit partners, philanthropic partners, landowners and consultants. The individual bears primary responsibility for public and private fundraising efforts associated with his/her land projects. The Project Manager will work with the State Director to maintain TPL's leadership role in expanding conservation funding in Maine. Land Conservation Associate, Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust

Entry-level position. Responsible for communicating, reviewing, and managing project data and providing project and departmental support. Processes landowner inquiries and project leads, assists with conservation project assessment, diligence tasks, maintains documentation, provides general administrative support. Requires strong interpersonal skills, knowledgeable interaction with landowners, attorneys, government officials, appraisers, surveyors, foresters and other consultants. Seeking an individual for the full-time position of Land Protection Associate to assist the Society's six land protection specialists in the acquisition of conservation lands and conservation easements. This is a full-time position based in Concord, NH. Specific tasks include preparation of baseline documentation reports, natural resource maps, hazardous waste evaluations of land, and boundary identification among other tasks. The Land Protection Associate involves significant field work and GIS mapping.  The position requires hiking alone in often remote, sometimes rugged terrain for up to a full day, and meeting sometimes with landowner or others.
