President and CEO, American Forest Foundation
Deadline: open until filled
The American Forest Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, chartered in 1981, for the purpose of encouraging the long-term sustainability of America's family owned forests, restoring wildlife habitat, and developing quality environmental educational programs. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the Foundation in late 2006 received an endowment grant of $150 million as part of the settlement of the U.S. Canada Softwood Lumber Agreement, emblematic of its reputation for leadership in sustainable forestry.  The new president must have a passion for the mission of preserving working forest land and an entrepreneur's ability to see opportunities to further this mission. While no specific professional credential or experience is a prerequisite, management of a complex organization and a grounding in land conservation, ecology and forestry are certainly relevant.  Visit www.forestfoundation.org for application instructions.  (posted 7/25/08)
